Yesterday, a hawk attacked my two free range ducks. Luckily, my husband and I heard the attack and ran outside to stop it. The ducks escaped without any damage, but they were visibly shaken. Does anyone have a good hawk deterent?

All you can do really is keep them in a covered run (wire on top so hawks can't get through) when you are not out with them. That is all I know that actually works.

Your poor ducks, have they recovered from the scare? Sometimes they will take awhile to snap back into reality and might need some safe, quiet time after such an attack in their duck house to recover from the shock. Are they acting normal today?

They seem to have recovered quite well today, although they are avoiding the scene of the attack. They are acting normal as far as I can tell, thank goodness!
