Can anyone recommend a product which you can mix in with sand to help control mites and fleas in my Ostriches?

Thank you!

sevin dust will be fine, diatomaceous earth may would even be helpful.
Can get both at Lowes home improvement or Home depot, any garden center etc.

You're welcome.
Meant to add if you get the d. earth get the food grade kind, not the kind used for swimming pools.
( If at lowes, home depot it would be in the garden center area )
Personally I think you'd have better/faster results with the sevin dust.

This interests me. I can't get close enough to pull the (sometimes much engorged) ticks from my tame-wild birds. I see them scratching themselves all the all the all the time.

The opportunity to examine them under their feathers, to determine the presence of ticks and ? and ?, would be most interesting.

A couple of years ago, I killed a four-foot snake, and examined it (before it went on the ants' nest). It had two dozen ticks under its scales.

Quickest way to deal with mites and such is ivomec wormer which covers mites and mange as well. All ratites should be wormed twice a year with Ivomec. I use the pig version
