For Sale: Heritage Turkeys Need New Home - Page 2

If anyone is going up that way this week/weekend, I could meet in Indy. I am planning on making a trip up there and could use a couple turkeys. I just lost my last one...long story.

I can PM you if needed to work out cost and breeds.

Current flock: Sumatra hen, blue partridge Silkie cockerel, and 57 misc breeds of chicks/pullets

My family has 4 Aussies named Patches, Roxy, Ditka, and Salami.

Everything has been going fine, in spite of being diagnosed with fibromyalgia a couple weeks ago. I had decided it wouldn't get me down, after all, the docs say exercise and movement is the best thing for it. Well, unfortunately I woke up with extreme back pain Friday morning. I finally went to the ER Sunday morning. The first shot of pain meds did nothing to alleviate my pain. Even while laying flat, it's almost unbearable. The second shot of a different pain medication along with a percoset tablet had me feeling better, but the car ride home was still excruciating. They sent me home with strong pain meds that are helping a little, but I can hardly handle using the bathroom, showering or dressing.
In light of all this, I have decided to find new homes for as many of my outdoor animals as possible. I've put ads on craigslist and contacted my local shelter, and thought I'd try here. Most of my chickens will probably be gone this weekend, but I haven't had much interest in the turkeys. I'd like to get a little something for them, especially considering all the time and work it took to capture/rescue them.
If you or anyone you know is interested, please message me or post a reply. As winter creeps ever closer, this becomes a more urgent situation. Thanks

How is the rehoming going for you?
