I have new chicks that are 3 weeks old. Am waiting a bit to let them in with the other two that are 9 weeks (they are in a see-through fence). The bigger ones can go outside now. Was wondering if I can give the 3-weekers some sprouted wheat berries? They get grit sprinkled on their feed. Thanks!

You can but I would not give them very many, as they really need the high protein of their feed (20%). Make sure also there is no mold- moldy food can kill chickens.

I do start my chicks on very very short grass clippings at one week of age (with grit) and thus I think you are trying to accomplish the same thing- fresh food with vitamins in the food.
