My baby turkeys are about four weeks old. They have had free range of the chicken pen for the past two weeks. They quit eating their feed a couple of days ago and so far I have lost three of them. One of them a couple of days ago and two this morning. I find them at the edge of the brooder with swollen bellies and white poo coming out. White, not creamy. White, as in toothpaste or hand lotion white.

Any ideas?

I am very sorry to hear of your troubles. I have next to no experience with turkeys... but is there any issue with them having access to chicken feed? Are they eating layer ration?

I know that in chickens, stark-white poops can indicate kidney issues, and too much calcium (like one might find in layer ration) can upset them if given too young in large quantities.

My other guess would be maybe something like Coccidiosis.

Just throwing that out there. Again, I have zero turkey experience...

You might have some luck posting your question here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/20/turkeys

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I have good bio-security between them and chickens. They are getting the turkey starter/finisher, and I get it directly from the mill. I received them from the hatchery and it seemed like about half of them were premature (they were small, unsteady on their feet, and their yolk-sacks had not fully adsorbed) and those are the ones that are not surviving. . . But they are all not eating.

My bio-security from chickens is that there has not been chickens (that I know of) within a half mile of where my turkeys are for about 4 years.

I was trying to figure out what changed when the turkeys stopped eating. . . I opened a new bag of grit. They were eating the grit rather than the food. I quit refilling their grit yesterday, and this morning they had eaten and none of them had died.
