Leghorn and delaware chicks are identical so don't feel that they got one over on you. You ended up with a superior layer. The ameraucana is another issue that I wish we could figure out a solution to.

I took a video clip of Oreo (my roo) and Ghost chattering, it was really interesting! I took a couple pictures of her actually laying too! I'm uploading now, which takes forever. I'm going to post when I'm done uploading :)

Hi,I have a question,
I have six hens and I believe only one is laying,I am inly getting bout an egg or two a day and they skip days too.is this normal?also I collect the one egg in the afternoon since one of my hens are laying in the morning.Am I hurting the egg production buy doin this?is all of this normal?sry for all the questions first time hen owner..

yea, I understand that! My cochins are the same age as the ones laying (6mos) and they haven't started. Then I have 4mo 3wk old girls I'm waiting on. Hopefully they'll start laying soon.
