Well we are hatching our second batch of eggs, the first batch we got 3 out of 15, many weren't fertilized and only 2 others were fully developed but didn't hatch or pip. After posting someone suggested doing lower humidity watching the air sacs and marking them at first then raising at lock down, I did that, the air sacs were just like the pictures for this second time (we got 20, at lock down we had 14 because we took out 6 that were not fertilized) well one hatched yesterday night, today I candled them because still no pips. I took out 5 more, 3 weren't fertilized two stopped growing mid way. The ones I left I was unsure but saw no movement in any :( no internal pips :( if we only get one chick will he/she be ok by its self?

Well we have a set of 3 chicks that are a month old, we tried every where here but are in a small town, the closest place is like 2 hours away. We took the smallest of the 4 week old chicks and put it with the baby keeping a very close eye on them, I was worried she would be aggressive with the little one, the chick was such a stinker pecking the eyes and wings of the big one, but not they are just fine! I am hooping if they cuddle up when they sleep I can move them into the coop brood box :)

That's great! I had the same problem with my very first hatch last year. Yielded one chick, it was late fall, no one had chicks and we live in a small rural town. He ended up being very spoiled and running the house with us a good share of the day. lol

Meet Pip (the day old chick) and Sage her big sister :) they are doing well, I am hoping in the next couple days to try moving them to the brood box in the coop. I am wondering if I could take Sage out and let her play with the other month old chicks during the day a little or will taking her away cause a problem?

I'm having the same problem, this is my first time hatching in a incubator and only one has hatched

he/she is 3 days old now and has no buddy but he is actually very content, I put a small fuzzy stuffed horse in his box and he cuddles with all the time, plus the poor little guy has something wrong with his leg, he has a little cast on. I'm hoping some of the younger eggs will hatch soon so he will have a little buddy.

I have a lonely 3day old chick who is frantically chirping constantly.
I have 2 weeks old they are all Jersey Giants would I be ok to put them all together??
Thanks in advance
Dan

I found putting in a bunch of big feathers helped mine until I was able to get it in with the other chicks I had. I have read others put in a stuffed animal, we also put in a mirror and that helped a little.
