I have used this communuty shamelessly over the past 3 years. Our first 16-week-old chickens arrived in May 2013. A science project from inner city Baltimore to rural Perry Co Pa. You provided the plans for our first coop and diy waters. In Early August we lost our roo "Jerk" to a coyote. Thanks to all of you and the knowledge on the site we successfully incubated 14/22 eggs after his death. So thank you!! Picture of Jerk and the peeps are below
Glad you could join the flock! I'm sorry to hear you lost Jerk to a coyote I've suffered a predator attack before and it sure was awful. How nice you have been able to hatch some chicks, I too love incubating and hatching it sure is fun and very rewarding.
Wishing you the very best of luck in the future. Be sure to ask any questions that you may have, everyone here to help and very friendly.
Congratulations on the chicks. I lost all 7 of my chickens in July to a predator. My 2 favorites "Lady" and "The General" are greatly missed. I wish you the best with the new chicks!
Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. I'm sorry about the loss of Jerk. It's always sad to lose one of our flock. Your chicks are adorable. Thanks for posting the pics. ) Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.
You seem to have a lovely flock. For the safety of my own chickens how did the coyote get in. We have foxes on our property and our coop is pretty strong but we do have them out of the coop for most of the day is this all ok.
