I'm not 100% sure, but I'm leaning toward cockerel.

Breeder of Dutch bantams, Wyandotte bantams, and a few exhibition rabbits.

Feel free to ask me questions about chicken and rabbit care, breeds, and showing! I'm always happy to help!

Nature's first green is gold,

Her hardest hue to hold.

Her early leaf's a flower

But only so an hour.

Then leaf subsides to leaf.

So Eden sank to grief,

So dawn goes down to day.

Nothing gold can stay. --Robert Frost

Given the light barring and the size of the comb at 5 weeks, it looks like a cockerel. Female Barred Rocks typically have darker barring.

Update: Even though I thought it might be a cockerel (& so did the responses I got) its a pullet.

Thanks for the update. It just proves once again that for every rule there is an exception where chickens are concerned. :o)
