Well, it's not looking like I got any frizzles in my hatch. At almost 4 weeks old, they're still looking pretty much the same! They're like one big, collective ball of spunk. I really love these guys! Because I'm only used to LF, I'm not really sure what I'm going to do with these guys as it gets colder. We thought about building an indoor coop for night and using a tractor in the day. What do you do? Do they have an outside coop? My 3 LF ladies (2 Speckled Sussex and an Australorp) free range in the day and sneak inside via doggie door whenever they need to lay or just feel like watching some TV.... Anyway, I got some pretty good pics of my Seramas, so here they are! How are your LOs doing?
(one of my very broody seramas recently went missing, I think to go hatch eggs which are probably not fertile :/) I let them free range all day but keep water and feed under my deck thats surrounded by tall chicken wire with a small slit of empty space for them to come and go. When it gets dark out everyone perches together in their preferred spot on a chair and wait for me to bring them in. (manually of course. too lazy to make the walk haha!) but inside everyone has a place to go - like horse stalls. My sumatra stays with my silkie roo in a large dog cage for adult mastiffs. My little serama hen D'ove gets the top part of a cheap coop I bought off of amazon, and the 4 babies all take the bottom though I hope to move D'ove with the others in the mastiff crate at night (she gets picked on) so the babies can keep the coop. I live in New England where the winters are brutal so Im wondering what to do then. They'll probably go outside some days under the deck where it doesnt snow but ill probably keep them inside and deal with the ugly mess!
