Hen or roo?

I'm thinking roo, but can anyone tell me for sure? I've never had a silkie before.

@skeetersmom @keesmom @Michael OShay Thank you! And do silkies not crow loudly or something? Because I have never heard him crow before. And also, none of my eggs are fertile, so do Roos have to be a certain age before they start fertilizing eggs?

Silkies do crow, but they are usually pretty quiet as roosters go. Most cockerels will begin crowing around 5 months or so, but sometime it is considerably longer, and on rare occasions nearly a year. My personal experience with Silkie cockerels is that they tend to be one of the later crowers. Depending on the breed, most cockerels will be anywhere from 4 to 8 months before they start fertilizing eggs.
 
@Michael OShay Thanks! And with that being said, since he is bantam size and all my hens are regular size, and since he's at the bottom of the pecking order, will be be able to do a very good job at fertilizing the eggs?
 
How old is he(she)? Lots of bantams are able to woo standard size hens. Don't underestimate them. However he may need some trimming of feathering so he has no obstructions to mating.
