Sorry I havent been much help the past few days, doc appointment and then meaties processing yesterday, today cooking baking for lukes halloween party and then Indoor water park hotel until monday eve! I am not sure I will be up for it, or trust mom and dad to stay here with my springers and my flock either. So we shall see. I am already wearing down.

@tracyjg your cooling system looks like it will work to store the eggs until you can set them! I think you have a better chance now, sounds like you have a hold on the bator temps and keeping humidity down in them too now!

ughhhh I have to candle hubs eggs yet, he somehow disowned them! just as I figured. hasnt had a hand on them since I dont know when!

I hope you enjoy your feast. Happy Birthday to your brother.

I have 3 chicks in the incubator now & 3 unhatched eggs. 1 of the eggs looked like it had died the last time I candled, so I don't expect that one to hatch.

So the first chick that hatched seems really aggressive. It keeps pecking the other two! I want to take it out of the bator and give it some food or something constructive to peck, but one of the chicks isn't dry yet. Is this normal behavior or is this chick going to be a pain in the neck??

Great pictures! My oldest son turns 8 in May. They do grow up fast.

It might be normal picking. The oldest chicks always seem to peck at the younger ones and I never found a way to stop them. They didn't hurt the smaller ones. Does the smaller one seem like it's getting hurt?

The big 8! lol its resting until sunday night in a cooler until we freeze it! and then we will make one on Tuesday! nothing like home grown chicken, wish I had known it years ago!

They will be fine, its normal! if you want quickly add a milk lid or small lid as such of chick starter or grow gel with a marble/s in it to give them a head start, I always do when I have several chicks when I need to add water. When I open the bator I wipe the front or lid with a hot damp rag to add instant humidity. and then get out of Dodge.

I know! my oldest is 27! lol luke is the baby of my gang, he is the baby of the 2nd set lol,
