I was wondering if it is usual for a rooster to try and mate with ducks?! I have a very rampant rooster he is 20 weeks old and he keeps chasing my muscovies and my Rouen drake who is 4 months old, like he hasn't got enough chicks to go on with!! Will he grow out of this randiness?
 
It's quite common - luckily, it is not a serious danger to the ducks (it would be, though, if the species were reversed as male ducks can seriously injure or even kill hens by mating them). Your cockerel is feeling a flood of hormones right now and most do mellow a bit with maturity, but there is no guarantee that he will grow out of it, all you can do is wait and see. If his harassment gets to be too much for the ducks you may need to change your management approach and separate them for a while.
