Ready to Lay???

Good plan. I like simple. I use a 16% organic grower for the base feed. I keep fishmeal (60% protein) on hand and mix at 1:10 to make a 20% protein feed for chicks.
It's easier IMHO to add protein than to take it away, even though grain will do so.
The roosters do fine on 16 or less.

I can adjust that (roughly) by how much scratch(and other foods) I give them of a day.
Chicks don't get scratch very often until POL.

I've got 3 hens 19wks. The RIR has had a pretty dark comb for over 3-4wks. Two Barred rocks with definite combs.
I checked the barred rock pelvic bones, over a thumb and finger wide. Does this mean ready for eggs? Checked another Barred Rock....3 fingers on the pelvic bones.
