Baby pigeons are very hard to raise from the egg but good luck!
Hi @ducky 13I replied to your pm. Fair warning, I got very lucky and when I message I tend to be a bit scatterbrained! Hopefully I answered most of your questions!
For all the pigeon owners out there, I get it! I'm utterly hooked on these incredible birds. My two have started flying and are quite curious little creatures! Evidently the refrigerator is the perfect roosting spot... And now I've started cleaning the top of the fridge... That's new!

I ended up selling my poor lone male and may start up on pigeons again sooner or later. Really thinking about American and Indian Fantails. But my dad will say no, so... time to sell some of my babies and eggs from my other poultry.

They are 2 totally different breeds. Indians have a crest, feathered legs and long bodies. American fans have no crest, no feathered legs and have round bodies w large tails( if you have good ones,)  Also, trust your pigeons, if they quit setting eggs, its because they know something is wrong. They will lay in just a few days, so it no big deal. I leave my birds alone, too much messing with them isn't good.

So I already know the answer to this question, but I want affirmation. Is there a way to sex fantails based on appearance? (I'm gonna go with 'no')

In fantails males tend to be bigger, fuller chest, n fans may spread out more.
