I ordered 3 silkie chicks (which I was so excited about) they are 5 weeks old. I waited until they were a bit older to assure safety in shipping. They were coming from Illinois to Michigan.. So really not that far. Shipped on Monday and by Monday afternoon the tracking showed they were still at the original shipping facility. Well two days later I'm freaking out, called usps and they opened an investigation to try to find them. 7 hours later, still nobody knows where these poor babies are. It's now Wednesday night, they've been in their shipping box with only grow gen since Monday morning at 10am. Anyone have this happen? I'm holding out hope by some chance they arrive and are alive.

I'm so sad for these babies. How does a box of chicks get lost?!?!

That is sad. Unfortunately, it seems to happen more than occasionally. Have you heard anything since you posted this last night?

They were sent express and were supposed to arrive by 3pm on Tuesday. Well.. Update.. In the middle of the night last night I started receiving updated for tracking that they were on their way. My post office called at 6am this morning and I went to pick them up. 3 were shipped and only 1 was alive when I opened the box. It was in very rough shape.. I was determined to keep it alive. After determination today it is now eating and drinking on its own. At least I was able to save one. Just so sad this happened!

I'm sorry you lost 2 of them but good job rescuing the 3rd! That must be one tough little cookie

Will the place you ordered from give you a refund or replace the birds you lost?

That's understandable. Good luck with the little one that made it!
