Hippy fish breeding!

Yes they lived in a tropical fish tank. They are ideal for keeping with betas because of their short tails. Also, a bit of advice, if you ever decide to buy a batch of cardinals, don't get a mother batch sometime after. My father did this and the original cardinals started attacking the newer cardinals. :(
One of the fish died from too much attacking from the others. I am not sure they were supposed to do this though.

They are also fast I'm guessing, if they're anything like the neons, so they can evade bettas.

dont know if its relevant now but there are saltwater cardinal fish as well such as bangaii, pajama and many other smaller species as well as the cardinal tetra
