Need help with a shopping list

I'd flip it vertically so door is on other side from pop door.... but.....
....Ahhh, if you have a mower and thrower to store your original design would definitely work better.....
...and with only 5 birds it'll probably be fine at the 44 or 48 or as far as you can move it over.

Not sure how a ladder roost will fit in there...4' is just tight.

But that's a long ways to go get the thrower...where are you located.
We're in South Dakota. It'd be stored in the garage during the winter, and the shed in the summer. It's only a double garage, so not a ton of storage space (which I realize in some parts of the country that sounds ridiculous).

Do you suppose I could reduce nesting boxes from three to two, elongating a space for roosts, and just do two longer roosts in the same space? They'd be about 3' long, so 6' total. Or we could actually turn the nesting boxes, I suppose. We just would have to actually go into the coop to collect eggs, which is how we do it now anyways. But that would give us more space to play with in regards to the roosts.

You could put a 6' roost/poop board combo (similar to mine) over the nests,
sacrificing one, or maybe both, of your storage cubbies.

Yep, 2 nests is enough and then can hang feeder under poop board too.

I feared that might be the best option. Well, that's ok. We'll have to just deal with fewer storage shelves. It is what it is. That does work nicely for the feeder/waterer though. Let me do a quick sketch modification now that my project is out for bid ;)

Bummer at losing the shelves, but this would work. I'm sure I could search, but what height would you put the roost at? And how wide for poop boards?

Put the nests right under the poop board, then you can still get eggs without going into coop.

I'd put the bottom of your nests maybe 8-10" off the floor, then poop board right on top, roost 8" above poop board.....you still might be able to have storage cubby.
So with 16" high nests, bottom of poop board would be 26".

If you go ceiling for coop, you can store things on part of top of coop close to coop wall.

Do you do any solid modeling...Inventor?

I generally don't. I've done a bit in Revit, but I wouldn't call myself proficient, though I have successfully done a couple of smaller projects in it. At this point I'd pretty much need to do a rendering to get the point across to my husband. Cars are his thing, not building
