Oysters??

I live in Wellfleet, on Cape Cod, and supposedly the oysters from here are shipped all over the world by name to fancy restaurants. Just over the hill from me is Chipman Cove, where many of the oysters are farmed. If you ask me, their shells just scratch the boat's hulls at low tide.

I know how to open them really well, but I have to say the scent and the slimy texture keeps me from being tempted to swallow them whole (gag).

Wish I liked them - residents shellfishing licenses are very inexpensive.

Yum smoked oysters and crackers this is always our float trip lunch. My dad lived in S Padre Tx and would bring up a gallon of oysters for an oyster fry. Man are they good fresh. And no one has mentioned it yet but we always have oyster dressing for Thanksgiving. Its coming soon. Hope I can find some good oysters.

We love them here too, I usually get a couple bushels a year fresh from the oysterman before they hit the market.

This thread got me thinking, guess I need to call him and see if he can hold me a bushel this weekend.
