Jenny (a red shaver) laid this enormous egg this morning, I've never seen anything like it!



 
I can't remember which thread I was reading the other day. Someone posted about an egg like that. They cracked it open and found a yolk and white, PLUS another ENTIRE egg, shell and all! I wonder if you have something like that? Your poor hen!!
 
We cracked it open but it only had 1 yolk, a massive yolk though, and it was a broken yolk not whole. I feel sorry for Jenny, I wonder if her vent is sore?!
 
Is it a red shaver egg? (Just new with chooks).sorry did not read that it was a red shaver then I posted it and felt like an idiot

That egg is enormous! Were you able to weigh it? One of our red sex link girls gave us a big egg about a month ago and it was 3.6 ounces.
 
I did weigh it, but now I can't remember what it weighed! About twice that of her regular sized eggs though. Was yours a double yolker?
