Well I can't find my old post, so making a new one. My hen survived, she is now called "Lucky" after a couple weeks I noticed the lump reappearing. It seems like stuff gathered in the hole, it was sticking out! yet it healed/scarred over, on the inside. So pulled out what I could, which was feed, dirt, etc, soaked the foot and cleaned out that pocket, no sign of infection, she is completely normal. For now, a bandage to keep the debris out, hoping that in time it might fill in with new tissue, I have no clue. Otherwise I guess we do soaks the rest of her life and keep it cleaned out, not a big issue, she loves her soaks. We do have a lice/louse issue. It seems it's under control, yet those egg clusters near the vent just don't seem to go away. Can the feathers be cut off, or should I put vaseline on them or Nu-Stock, etc? Yanking them out seems cruel, although some do come out with little effort. Been using wood ash, but now I ran out and am gonna have to go back to the medicated powder. Some advice if anyone has any please.

Most of the time when cleaning out an abscess or bumblefoot, it will eventually fill in with tissue, unless there is still infection or a part of a cyst there. For lice, the eggs you are seeing at the base of the feathers, will hatch out every 10 days, so treatment of dusts or spray must be repeated to get the eggs. Some have recommended coconut oil applied to the egg clusters to help remove them.

Ok, I will try the coconut oil next. Those things are coming off and getting thrown in the fire, lol. Thanks for the info.
