Is anyone aware of any construction plans for the newer Salatin-style egg mobile with the scissor trusses? I'm not good at coming up with such plans myself, but can follow them fairly well. I haven't had any luck with google searches so far, so I would appreciate being pointed in the direction of such plans if they exist.

Thanks!

Found the one i was thinking of anyway........

These aren't plans so much as their build page, but it might help. Not sure exactly what you meant by scissor trusses tho.....?

Hear his description of this starting around 4:28 in this video. The whole video is 29 minutes long, but he is done talking about this house by 11:15 in the video, so it's not so much that you have to wade through.

Interesting concept...seems the scissor trusses provides supports for lots of roosts.
Wonders if they roost in the nests too tho, being as they are higher than the intended roosts below.

Kinda doubt you'll find detailed construction drawings of this thing....but if you contact Polyface, they may sell you some.
I did a bit of googling and didn't find anything.

Hmmm. The roosts are definitely a problem, but I was thinking the main reason for this design was perhaps an extended life of the tractor due to the added stability from the "scissor trusses". These things have to flex and twist and stress every joint going around fields and back again. As many as SALATIN has (20+?) I figured he came up with this as a longer lived version.....
I'll have to go look at that video now, extra gigabytes or not....:lau
