So this is my first hatch of eggs in a incubator. I took the turner out on day 18, put paper towels down, laid the eggs in along with a wet sponge. My temp has been 99.5 to 100.00 the entire time & humidity from 45 to 50%. As of today ( day 21) I have no signs of life

No popping, moving, chirping, NOTHING

I'm still holding hope tho

All chicks do not hatch at 21 days on the dot. You may want to gently tap an egg or two, to see if there is some response, or even chirp at it. That is what early hatchers would do and it tends to get the others focused on hatching. Have you candled the eggs at any stage of their development?

I've never hatched eggs before but the link trailrider330 gave you would be a good place to check in. Good luck, hope you get some chicks soon!

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! How did you count your days? Did you count day 1 as the day you set or after a full 24 hours of incubation? I agree with drumstick that not all chicks hatch exactly on day 21, some are a little early some are a little late. Also if your temps have been a little low this can cause a delayed hatch. Did you double check your temps with a seperate thermometer? What kind of incubator are you using?

Here are some candling pics in this link to compare your eggs against ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/web/viewblog.php?id=230

I counted day 1 as 24 total hours in the bator, I put in at 3pm on sept 3, so I counted sep 4 th as day 1. I bought a new little giant styrofoam still air incubator. I have not double checked my temp or humidity with another source. Should I do that now?

I think I know your problem. As you have a still air incubator the temp should be 101-102 f measured at the top of the eggs. As you have no fan to circulate the air/heat around the incubator you need a higher temp. Give me 2 minutes and I will dig an article out for you.

That's what I was wondering! So I have 41 eggs in there, how the heck do I candle all the eggs without cooling them down too much.. Or should I just leave them alone for at least another day before doing anything..
