Hello im Tina. My boyfriend n i just joined this group to learn about our chickens n see other people's chickens. We are new to raising chickens we've had our chickens about four months now. Our girls are Henny n Penny I'm not to creative when it comes to picking out names.lol One of our babies got a cough not to long ago n my boyfriend was very quick to notice n got her treated very fast n she is doing well now. When we first got them we didnt know much about them. One was rolling in the dirt n was acting funny, i started crying thinking something was the matter with her. Was i relieved when we found out it was just a dirt bath. Cant think up much else right now thank you for having us!!!

Hello Tina, you've come to the right place! This is not only a wonderful and educational site it has a great community of knowledgeable people who can help you along the way and answer most any questions you may have. Nice to have you.

Nice to meet you Tina, Welcome to Backyard chickens. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Many newbies are alarmed to see chickens writhing in a hole, thinking they are having seizures or in the final throes of death. Chickens LOVE their dust bath and almost seem to be in a trance. Lucky you don't have day old chicks, they look dead the way they sleep, and can fall asleep standing up and then pitch forward. If you disturb them you will see how fast they pop up.
