I received these 2 rabbits yesterday and the lady I got them from didn't know what breed they were. They are very large so I was thinking they could be Flemish Giants. Supposedly the black one is female (and pregnant) and the silver one is male.....any thoughts?

I would guess based on the pictures they are Flemish Giant or a Flemish Giant mix. Not sure but it looks like the grey has a dewlap.(extra chin) Not sure if that is a female only thing with Flemish or not.

Steel (the 'black' one) and Light Gray are Flemish colors, so it's possible. How much do they weigh? For show purposes, Flemish weigh 13 lbs or more. Are you absolutely sure about the genders? As Fernie pointed out, there appears to be a slight dewlap on the Light Gray. Flemish does are expected to have large, full dewlaps, but a buck shouldn't have one; I don't see a dewlap on the Steel in either picture.

Thank you for your help! Lol I had someone who knows a little more about rabbits come over and check it out, turns out the light gray one is the female...and is definitely pregnant lol. I'm pretty sure that they are at least Flemish crosses.... The steel colored male has to weigh at least 10 lbs!

*Edited to add-
The female does have a dewlap / double chin, and yes they are in separate hutches now! I was also informed that since they were housed together for an extended period of time at their previous home that the female may be pregnant with multiple litters. So we will also deal with that when the time comes. Wish me luck lol!

There are several commercial breeds ("meat rabbits") that weigh in the 10-12 lb range. While it isn't a showable color for the New Zealand, Steel frequently pops up in litters when people cross the New Zealand colors together, or breed a New Zealand to something else. If I bred a New Zealand Black to an American Chinchilla, for example, I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see both of these colors in the litter (the doe's color is called Chinchilla in other breeds; only in the Flemish is it called Light Gray). So while I can't rule out Flemish as being part of the cross, nothing about these rabbits absolutely indicates that it is in there, either.

Just for the sake of reference, this is a Light Gray Flemish Giant doe:

This is an American Chinchilla:
