Anybody ever seen anything like this? Khoshekh, the guinea with a feather ridge

Khoshekh is a pied hen, around 16 weeks right now. I purchased her as an 8 week old, and she started to develop the ridge a few weeks later. It's formed entirely of excess feathers. It will not smooth down.

Ive seen somthing similar in peafowl, when they dont preen themselves the build up from new feathers coming in can distort the feathers and give weird shapes. I learned that taking a wire brush and cleaning the skin and stuff out helps or give him a bath.
