Tube Feeding Videos, Pictures and General Info

Just wanted to share some crop feeding videos that I found.

Crop feeding videos

These are using a crop needle, not a plastic tube.

This one uses a tube like I use

From:http://www.hopkinslivestock.com/oral_dosing_article.htm

The hole at the back of the tongue is the entrance to the trachea - Nothing should ever go in there!

The tube goes where this syringe is pointed

You're welcome! I'm planning on adding to this and will include supplies for the different sized ducks, where to get them, when and when not to tube, amounts to tube, the importance of tubing fluids first, etc.

The tubes I use most are:

  • 8 for newly hatched ducklings, chicks, peachicks and poults
  • 10 for slightly older to about the 500 gram size
  • 18 for over 500 grams
  • 30 for when I want to tube crumbles mixed with water instead of baby bird food

Tubes are cheap, so one might want to think about getting one of each size.
