Gapped tooth cockerel

I know as far as beak injuries go, this is just a scratch, but I was wondering what the best practices are for treating a beak when it splits like this. At first I planned to leave it alone and let it get worn down, but now I'm concerned that the split will continue up the beak unless I clip the damaged part off. For now, he just chirps with a lisp, "fweef, fweef, fweef" hehe j/k

Being on the tip of the beak it may split further, like a split fingernail.

Here's are thread that offered several links to advice and treatment:  http://www.backyardchickens.com/t/1018215/beak-injury-peeling-separated-beak-need-advice

hope this helps.
