I took my 6 yr old silkie to the vet because she was falling sideways when she walks. Vet ran two cultures of her stool which was loose, couldn't find any thing wrong, checked her over and gave me two doses of some type of wormer for the diahhrea in ten day increments. That has been twelve days ago she just sits in coop, drinks a little water, not eating much, what could this be any any suggestions? Thanks so much good chicken people!

I'm not really sure what is going on with your little chicken, sounds neurological or some type of virus. Hopefully someone more informed will help.
Chickens, muscovy ducks, turkeys, donkeys , goats, dogs, fish, parakeets, a parrot, and a cat.

Chickens and dogs are healing to the soul.

Is she still laying eggs? Can you feel her breast bone to see if she has lost weight, and also check her lower belly for any swelling or fullness. Start some poultry vitamins with probiotics in her water. Egg yolk peritonitis, internal laying are common in older hens, and may cause some of those symptoms. Have you ever noticed droppings that look like cooked egg?
