first time incubation questions

I am about to incubate for the first time this week and I have NO IDEA what I am doing. Do any of you have a good online resource or video that tell me step by step. I am clueless and really need to learn A LOT today or tomorrow.

Thank you

Go to the learning center and read "Hatching Eggs 101". There are plenty of other articles that will help you as well. My best advice, use low humidity until lock down, then get it up to 65%. Be sure your thermometers and hygrometer are calibrated. You'll find instructions for doing that in the learning center. Check all areas of your bator, some have warm/cool spots. Use more than one thermometer. I sometimes have 4 in my little home made bator! I like to calibrate my thermometers to 100* using a medical grade thermometer.

I have a question I hope I get some answers because I'm so unsure about how my son's incubating is going. I wanted to candle his eggs but this is a first for me also. I have NO IDEA what I'm looking for. I know where the air sac is located but after that I'm LOST.... Can someone tell me what I should be looking for and of its difficult to candle Japanese Bantam eggs. We are aware of the gene they carry and know the odds of the eggs not hatching.

Thank you,
Seriously Confused lol

Have you read Hatching Eggs 101 in the learning center? It has some wonderful information, including candling instructions and pics.
