So no one warned me about duck math!
I brought home 4 beautiful Muscovies (a male and 3 ladies) August, and they are currently living with my chickens.
I figured a temporary solution to my jumping in this summer instead of spring 2016. oops

Then I happened to see an add for muscovy ducklings in town Sept, and thought well maybe just 2 more, you know for my kids.
I brought home all 6......

So now I have my happy 4 with the chickens, and the not quite so little 10 week olds in a tractor meant for my broilers......
You see how this is going lol.

I found a plan for a dog house I think wold be lovely for their new run, can anyone check it out and let me know what you think?
Thanks!

This is what I came up with. I wanted kennel flooring so I could hose it out for speed cleaning. In warm weather it is open with just the kennel flooring getting hosed down regularly. When it gets cold, I will add bedding to the floor and panels to the mesh to keep out drafts. So it's modular for the different seasons. This house is in their 24x44 run. Eventually they will have about 2 acres fenced in to roam around but until then, they stay in the run. I will add some removable nesting boxes when they start laying.

Just for more perspective, this is a 4'x8' duck house and the front is 5' tall and the rear is 3' tall. I figured it could be reused as a dog or goat shelter if I stop keeping ducks.

It's light enough to move with a heavy duty hand truck by myself. I can also turn it on it's side and clean underneath.

No this will be our first. I'm going to fabricate panels to cover the mesh next week. To retain some heat and reduce any drafts for cold months.
