So I got chick starter from the feed store and I put it out for the baby chicks they both hatched on Sunday one was really early on Sunday one was very late on Sunday today is now Tuesday evening I know they don't need to eat any food quite yet they have up to 72 hours before they need to worry about calories and nourishment they are drinking water just fine but I noticed that the chick crumble they're having a hard time getting that down they are really small they were born on day 19 not day 21 theyes are bantam mix I don't know if I need to smash up the crumble even more? Maybe if they're still having a hard time in two days I can maybe scramble up some eggs so they can have some nourishment?

If you are concerned about it rather than using a substitute like eggs (less nutritious - and when they are taking in minimal amounts you want the most nutrition possible in what they take), try soaking the feed.

Thank you I didn't think of doing that. The chicks keep.running up pecking at my hand they appear hungry I scratched at the crumble with my finger and they started to peck at the smallar.particles and looked like they swallowed half of what they were playing with. I haven't seen chinks this small, makes me nervous lol
