So I now have two hatched lavender laced cochins, I'm not sure if they will be Bantam or not? Mom was pure lavendar laced cohin dad was a white bantam cochin and the chicks are lavendar.

How can I tell if they are hens or roosters? And tips? My kids have already named them lucky and cutie. I am not able to have a Rooster in city limits but if it ends up bring a rooster and is quite my be I can get away with it? I highly doubt it will be quite lol
I was too nervous to check the vent in the first 24 hours I didn't want to hurt them and I read that it can hurt them if you don't know what your doing.
