Decided to go ahead and leave Jo's foot wrapped for tonight and then we'll take it off tomorrow morning - we need to clean the coop and I was afraid if we took it off tonight he's just get his foot all yucky. We'll get it cleaned out tomorrow while they're out doing their foraging thing. I will go ahead and use coconut oil and @Amiga I love the idea of infusing comfrey - we do have some! So I'll plan on applying that each day and letting it finish healing up.
We also got a new addition to our flock today - a lovely Welsh Harlequin lady. We got her from a family who had her and her drake hatchmate, but the drake died recently - he was found in their pond and they think he may have drowned because he was molting. They have no other ducks and wanted to find another home for her where she could be a part of a flock. They said her name is Daisy. We now have 3 Khaki females, one khaki drake, two Muscovy females and one Welsh Harlequin female. I think I would love to have more Welsh Harlequins someday - been learning more about the breed and they are pretty great! And beautiful.
