MaLisa in Idaho
Hatching
My name is MaLisa. Two months ago my family and I uprooted in Florida and moved to north Idaho. Six months ago had someone said we'd move to Idaho and start a farm I'd have laughed at them. But here we are, my husband and I, our two boys, 4 dogs, 1 cat, 2 turtles, and 10 sugar gliders. Since our arrival Aug. 8th we have purchased 2 piglets. We were given a rabbit (because she was the runt and too small for the freezer) and 4 5mth old roosters.
We are pretty resourceful. That has worked to our advantage so far. We found an ad for a woman needing a goat stand. We built her a goat stand in exchange for hens and ducks. They will arrive sometime in the next week. We have saved up scrap wood from the local waste site and now we are building our chicken coop. The nice girl with the chickens and ducks recommended BackYard Chickens. So here I am and happy to be here.
