As I've been reading on BYC, I've seen mentioned that "duckwing" in colored chickens, you can tell gender by the color pattern. I have two chipmunk colored chicks that are feathering in duckwing. Does anyone know or can point me to an explanation about which patterns are male and which are female? If I have the terms wrong, please correct me (it might explain why my googling is coming up with nothing).

The chicks are silkie crosses, so if I can tell gender by feather pattern it might save me months of waiting :)

Silver Duckwing is the same as Silver. Look up Silver Leghorn Chicks they should help.

Silver leghorns used to be silver duckwing leghorns.

But first I should ask. Which duckwing? Golden? Silver?

Male silver duckwing old english male.

I sold my females and he died. But the females of silver duckwing are a light silvery grey with salmon chests and black main tail featheds.

Females should have "eyeliner" that is like a stripe horizontally through the eye.
Female old english. Brassy back imagine the black as a silvery grey with small light little doodles on each feather.

Male game grow their combs very fast. At around 3weeks old the combs should be very different.

As a rule of thumb, black breasts are male. Brown/salmon breasts are female.

do you have pics of your chicks? What colors are the parents, which parent is the silkie and what breed is the other parent?

Here they are as chicks. I'm not sure which parent was the silkie, I got them on the internet. I can tell they are silkie because they have the black skin and the 5 toes, but they've feathered out with hard/smooth feathers, so I'm pretty sure they're crossed with something else.

Top one does look female to me but, bottom one, I don't believe is a frizzle. I think it's a clash of feather types, some of the silkie type meeting with hard feathers. I think after a couple of molts one type of feather will prevail.
