Wanted: pictures of your goat housing and pens.

So I am thinking we are going with the Kinder goat. Two does, no buck. Maybe have room for four does?....just in case they multiply like chickens. smile.png And room for kids.
Now I need to figure out the best plan for housing and a pen.
With my chickens, it took me two years to build a second coop as my first one was inadequate. I would like to get the goat structure right the first time.

So, what do you suggest for a nice environment? What were mistakes you made in your planning, or your favorite feature?

Pictures would be great!

Also, any other tips or advice that you wish you knew when starting out with goats.

Thanks!

Goats are pretty easy about housing, they need somewhere to get out of the elements, anything more elaborate is for you the caretaker, an area to store hay or any feed is nice, but make sure it's goat proof.

We have our mineral and baking soda feeders inside now. We don't feed hay inside anymore unless it's really cold out because goats can turn into bullies when fed and the least aggressive can get driven out of the shed.

A nice south facing window is nice as well as good ventilation in the summer, don't use glass in the window because goats will break it. And goats will chew on wooden structures.

Mine is inside my big pole building.

Chickens, muscovy ducks, turkeys, donkeys , goats, dogs, fish, parakeets, a parrot, and a cat.

Chickens and dogs are healing to the soul.

I brake for squirrels.

Some of my birds.

I just have a simple three sided shelter. It is really all they need.
