Rooster with bloody throat

When we let the chickens out this morning, we noticed our rooster has a bloody throat. He is the only rooster with 4 hens. What on earth could have happened? I don't have any Blue Coat. Is there anything else I can put on him? Thanks!
 
He'll likely heal on his own but some betadine or triple antibiotic after a saline flush can be helpful.

I'm guessing some kind of predator attack.
