So glad I found this site!  Have four chicks now 7 weeks old and two older hens.  Haven't mixed them yet and have lots of questions!

1 Bard Rock, 1 Ameraucana, 2 Black Jersey Giants and 2 Cuckoo Marans, 1 German Shepherd, 3 cats and many deer, hummingbirds, coyotes, gophers and other wildlife in addition to one husband and two married children.  Retired; it's a wonderful life!

Hi welcome-byc.gif

Glad you could join the flock! You could start now with the mixing process so your birds are all acquainted before you add them together. If you use the look but don't touch method you can start now. Have your birds next to each other but seperated by wire so they can see but not get to each other. Once your chicks are fully grown you should be able to add them with the minimal of fuss. Here is a lovely article on this method ~ http://www.backyardchickens.com/a/introducing-new-chickens-using-the-see-but-don-t-touch-method

Wishing you the very best of luck. Be sure to ask all the questions you need to, everyone here to help and very friendly.

I set fire to the rain! Watch it pour as I, touched your face. Well it burn while I cried, because I heard it screaming out your name. And I threw us into flames. I knew that was the last time, the last time...I set fire to the rain! -Adele
