Hi Everyone

I need to sort out my chicks and hens. At the moment I have three hens and a cockerel in the main run. A hen with one chick in another small run, a hen with two chicks in another run and 1 chick on his own who has to move inside at night time. I would like to put all the chicks together and the mothers back with the main group. The chicks range from 10 weeks to 8 weeks old - 2 cockerels and two hens. The 8 week old chicks are as big as the 10 week old chick. I need to get this sorted as I am going away for a few nights and my husband won't be able to manage all the shenanigans that go on at night time :)

By 8 to 10 weeks old, they don't need their mothers to stay warm or to find food anymore. Go ahead and separate into their own flock or you can start to integrate them into the adult flock.

Thank you. I felt that they would be ok but as I have never done this bit before it's good to know that I'm not about to do the wrong thing!
