new rooster im not shearing

ok got a new rooster 6days  ago locked him down with the rest of my flock for the 5 days today turned them all out now the old one fights him but didnt bother him while on lock down but now none of the hens hang with him still with the old man and the new one is hanging up in the trees far away from the rest should i lock him and a few hens up with him alone or just let things go for awhile longer

The old rooster probably did let the new one know he wasn't wanted - when they were locked in together.  That is why he is up in the trees.  A rooster can handle ten hens each - if you  don't have that many,  or more  the new one won't be allowed to have his own.  Roosters are hardly ever friendly with each other unless they grew up together from hatching.

It's not safe for your new roo to be up a tree where   all kinds of predators can grab him.  You may have to have  two separate flocks with separate run & coops so the new one doesn't get beat up or run off.

x2 on Drumstick diva's comments. Roosters are beautiful and certainly fill a need if you want fertile eggs but too many roos (or not enough hens) can be a challenge.

Good luck to you, thanks for joining us!
