For the last week, each morning when I go into the barn I find one dead hen. The heads and necks are completely gone! From what I understand, it is typical coon behavior and sounds like a mink/weasel, right?
What do you think it is and how can I stop it? It's so sad to go in and find yet another dead chicken. I love my hens and I don't know how to protect them. The barn is sealed up.. or so I thought. I've set live traps with tuna because we initially thought it was a racoon.
The predator comes late at night even past midnight.
Please help me save my flock!
