I picked up a manna pro chick stick to give to my chicks as a treat. I want to break up the boredom of the brooder. My question is, do they need to be eating grit with this? It doesn't indicate on the package. Does anyone know?

If there is anything in it that isn't finely ground, they need grit. #1 for up to 3 weeks of age, #2 for up to 7 weeks and #3 beyond 7.
Even birds that only get ground feed can still benefit from grit.

Yeah, I have no idea what's in it. It is a solid block. Sort of like a suet that you buy for back yard bird feeders. As far as the grit is concerned I picked up a bag of the chick grit by Manna Pro. It doesn't say what size it is (not even on their website). But it says to give it to them at two weeks of age so I assume it is the correct size.

Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for that info. It's hard to believe it gets much bigger. I was surprised to see the size of it when I opened it. I was picturing something like sand.
