my goats please help - Page 2

Abscess, hopefully not the contagious type, have your vet drain and flush it, some versions can cause chronic wasting from internal abscesses.
Chickens, muscovy ducks, turkeys, donkeys , goats, dogs, fish, parakeets, a parrot, and a cat.

Chickens and dogs are healing to the soul.

I brake for squirrels.

Some of my birds.

Other goats, I had this problem for quite a few years, I also lost those same goats to chronic wasting, I researched it and I read that they can get the abscesses internally which causes the wasting. Otherwise it's just an abscess from a wound. Either way humans are fine.

But since the abscess is by the lymph nodes I would guess it's the goat contagious type.

Ah, poor puppy! I'm glad you have been able to take these animals in. Sounds like you are a good person for doing that!

I'm glad the goats are doing better. I definitely agree with the others that they look like adults. Let us know what the vet says about the lump. Unfortunately we can't say for sure what it is, but a vet will be able to diagnose it for you.

Here's a link about caseous lymphadenitis for you to read up on. Again, there are definitely other things it could be, so don't get worried until the vet sees her!
