My silkie bantam has had oozing yellow discharge from her vent for a number of days. The smell is awful and I figured it was vent gleet, and been treating accordingly. She has lasted 8 days - at first appetite and activity stopped and I've been getting her to eat with coconut, raspberries, egg yolk and rice. Now she is quite her usual self and is eating layers mash as normal. She is active dust bathing and all. When I separated her today she cleared the 40cm box and went back to her friend. Her butt hasn't cleared up, despite daily soaks in Epsom salts and antibacterial cream. Her poop is still ooze with no distinction between white/brown. Despite eating she has lost weight and I'm worried her reserves won't carry her through.
She has never laid - approx 8 months and hard to put weight on. Tablet wormed and apple cider vinegar in water since purchase 5 months ago. I have a picture of the vent area if needed. It's swollen from the inside and hard at the top of the vent where the swelling is. Removed all feathers around the vent in an effort to keep vent clean
What am I doing wrong ? Rest of flock healthy.
