Okay now, so the reason why I am posting this important, urgent thread is because on Nov. 29, 2015, there is an upcoming bird mart at building #4 in Fairplex, Pomona that sells live birds, feed, cages & supplies, etc. They even have quails! We have bobwhites, but I like the valleys better. We've never had valley quails yet, but I'd be glad to replace the bobwhites with the valleys. So I definitely need URGENT help BEFORE the bird mart:

1) How loud are valley quails compared to bobwhite quails (How loud are they?)?

2) How noisy are valley quails compared to bobwhite quails (Do they call constantly?)?

3) Are valleys larger, smaller, or the same size as bobwhites?

4) How much more colorful are valleys compared to the less-colorful bobwhites?

Please note: In this thread, I am taking things seriously. Believe me, I'm only 14 yrs. old, so please stay on-topic (about both the valley and bobwhite quails, NOT the bird mart), answer ALL my questions in FULL, COMPLETE sentences (Don't just say "Bobs are noisier than valleys". I also want you to answer from your experience because I'm not sure.), and make sure you have BOTH valley quails and bobwhite quails, along with your experience (we have bobwhites, but no valleys.).

And, when you think that quail is better, explain why.

Any suggestions would be happily appreciated (as long as it's NOT off-topic). Thank you!

From what I have read the Valley Quail are really skittish.  This was posted by @Lophura.  Maybe he will respond to the shoulder tap and give you more info.  I was also reading about Georgia Giant Bobwhite who can get to be fourteen to sixteen ounces at maturity.  But the most praised Quail raised for meat seems to be the Coturnix

The Valley Quail are very nervous and flighty, much more so than the Button and the Bobwhite.  A lone bird, hand reared could become quite tame (have a friend who did it with a Gambel, bird would perch on his head), but in a group, they are crazy.  Need much more room than Buttons as well.

Thanks, but I need more answers from other users.
