Ivermectin and Mites - timeframe?

How long does it take Ivermectin to kill mites? I put 4 drops of the pour on Ivermectin on one of my hens yesterday and I can still see lots of mites moving in the feathers. Do it take awhile to work?
 
You need to treat all the birds and clean and dust the coop with permethrin, all the same day. Then repeat in ten days or so. I use Ivermectin 1% solution at 1ml. per 100 lbs. body weight. It may be safe at 1 ml. per 80 lbs. body weight too. Mary
 
I used the Ivermectin pour on, so 3 drops on my light weight hen. I've got a huge fenced in coop so I can't imagine I'm going to be able to dust it all, but I'll try. She's not in the coop right now so I'll treat everyone else and dust when I put this one chicken back in the main coop.
