I was wondering if this style slider lock Thingamajig really works against predators/ raccoons etc... I'm hoping they never make it in the run but I'm locking the door anyways as if they could.?, made it today from a metal rod and key rings

I'm confused on how it works ...

Looks like there is a joint in the pipe? Is it held together with the key rings? Is that the locked position?

I would use a heavier duty eye screw ... Preferably a eye BOLT, drill a hole through the door, and put a good sized washer on the other side ...
