No, an egg a day per hen is excellent; as good as any flock can do.

Are they free roaming outside? They may be happier with the forage they have, if so. Do you have a mixed flock? We've raised a handful of varieties, and they seem to have different levels of interest in "scraps." We currently have Red Dorkings and Barred Rocks.

I have 5 young hens only 5 months old mixed flock they are spoiled by me hand feeding them all the time now they run around only about 1 hour a day when I get home from work they are in a coop all day

Got my first egg today so excited just don't know which one laid it I have 5 all different bred

Does anybody know if papaya and the seeds are ok for chickens to eat if they like them

Papaya and papaya seeds are fine for chickens to eat and they love them. We fed papaya frequently to our chickens when we lived in Hawaii.
