Take the chicks one by one and gently dip their beaks into the water.  Make sure they take a sip. Then watch them drink by themselves. Don't hold their heads in the water so long they start to gasp. We don't want them inhaling any water. Just taking a surprise drink. Then watch the chicks. If one still isn't drinking, dip its beak in he water again. It usually only takes 1 or 2 dips to give them the idea.

 Best,

 Karen

BTW, I use bottled water for the 1st 2 weeks.

I know he will do well by them. Karl is a knowing poultry man.

RIP Hellbender, my friend. Good friend, good heart, gone too soon.

I set fire to the rain! Watch it pour as I, touched your face. Well it burn while I cried, because I heard it screaming out your name. And I threw us into flames. I knew that was the last time, the last time...I set fire to the rain! -Adele

My hens teach their chicks to eat and drink. I don't know if all hens will.

Yep, momma will show them smile.png They're sneaky like that, and they don't actually need so much to drink in the first couple if days. She'll show them where it is and how to drink smile.png
